A beautifully detailed brass Qur'an, or 'Koran', altar casket box. Sometimes referred to as Cairoware. Latch functions.
Most likely dating to the late 19th century, circa middle Qajar period.
Overall very good condition. Some tarnishing, patination, discoloration, dents, etc. No bottom. Exhibits signs of age such as surface wear and weathering. As they are part of the description, please enlarge all photographs to better ascertain details and condition.
