  • Condition: Some orange stain on the front of the box along the pattern. Lock doesn't actually lock. Small chip on the back of one of the legs. Velvet is still in very strong shape, but could use cleaning. One small rip on the protective bottom covering of the top tray. A few imperfections in the manufacture and along edges, but nothing beyond the orange stain really jumps out to your eye even on close inspection. No smoke or odors.

    Egyptian Style Jewelry Chest Box
    Wooden, Mother of Pearl, Red Velvet.
    I honestly have no idea on the history of this box  It appears to be a handmade wooden box that is heavily inlaid with mother of pearl in varying geometric patterns. Its a very fascinating piece and utterly gorgeous. There are a few issues with it, but nothing terribly noticeable especially in lower light bedrooms. In high light areas the decorative pattern hides almost every imperfection as the mother of pearl shimmers. Its natural imperfections in the manufacture only add to its charm.
    Have found several other boxes like this one's patterning, but haven't been able to find another box quite like this one with an inset tray and standing legs.
