Elegant Telkari from Old Istanbul

Description

Telkari is an art and an age-old tradition in Today’s south east Turkey. Extremely thin wires of silver or copper are fused together to form jewelry or similar items. Precious stones or small silver balls may also be added. This particularly elegant hand made one is covered with nickel over the copper wires. The item is in excellent condition, and sourced from the old city of Istanbul. Circa 1940
