We will be auctioning some nice fossils here over the next few weeks, so keep checking back.
This is a gigantic example of an unusual OLD US trilobite. It is a HUGE Wanneria walcottana from the Lower Cambrian, found in the Brubaker's Quarry of Lancaster, Pennsylvania in the 1980's. This gigantic trilobite (OVER SIX INCHES LONG!) is missing the bottom part of the body and is STILL over six inches long! The distinct trilobite has excellent detail displayed and great NATURAL brown color intact.
But the most collectible feature of this specimen is the presence of the outer "skin" detail - Wanneria have a unique, reticulated skin texture, but this feature is not preserved on 99% of the Wanneria ever found!
The fact that this example has this characteristic texture detail preserved AND it is over six inches long makes it one of the most collectible Wanneria ever found from this locality. It is a very unique specimen of Wanneria walcottana with both impressive size and detail from Lower Cambrian Kinzers Formation.
