Offered from the estate of former State
Department family. Lived abroad in Afghanistan
from 1953 to 1964, Iran for about a year, 1964-5.
He went to Vietnam and the rest of the family
lived in Thailand for about a year and a half,
1965-67. Post retirement travel included: Indonesia,
Bangladesh, Philippines, Israel, several European
countries, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,
Tajikistan, and in the 90s and early 00s to
Burkina Faso and Peru. Offering many unique
items from Peru, as grandmother lived
there for 30 years. Fascinating lives
found behind these special objects.
This blue tile is a gem, the tile itself
hand made in the old ways, hand
painted and much loved. It weighs
over a pound by itself, probably not
suitable for hanging. Shipping
weight is 1.75 pounds,
