    Description

    The item for sale is a pair of plates that were made in Kutahya, Turkey probably during the end of the twentieth century.  The plates were made to adorn walls with hand painted scenes of men in traditional garb carrying out activities.  They appear to be from an earlier time during the Ottoman Empire but were made in a more recent date.  A variety of colors were used to decorate the plates.  The plates have no chips nor cracks.  One plate has crazing to the transparent top glaze.  The other plate has a tiny amount of utensil marks that are visible under magnification.  The diameter of the plates is about 7".
