For your pleasure is a newly created handmade necklace that incorporates ancient with new. Based on its name, this necklace was made using eleven ancient Mediterranean red coral beads that are untreated and not-dyed. These red coral pieces entered Yemen in the mid to late 19th century and were originally used on an antique bridal necklace. Red coral from Yemen are considered very high quality and so their price is very reflective of that.
Incorporated into the necklace are 14 new sterling silver beads of various size and texture. Yemenite silver spacers offset the red coral beads; and sterling stacked daisy beads grace each bead strand.
The chain of the necklace was handmade by twisting sterling silver wires into links and thereby connecting them as a single chain. A handmade sterling hook joins the necklace together with a sterling ring loop.
