Pair of Antique Handcrafted Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Wheels

A pair of antique, exquisitely handcrafted, Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Wheels. Actual age unknown. My parents acquired these pieces from an antique dealer while traveling in the Middle East in the early to mid 1960s. Each prayer wheel stands an impressive 11 1/8 inches high.  Each prayer wheel is crafted out of a combination of copper, nickel, iron, zinc and lead. The weight of each wheel, less the handle and weighted ball on the end of the chain, is 6.2oz and 5.2oz, respectively.  The dimensions of each wheel are approximately 3 inches in diameter, 3 1/4 inches tall with a 2 inch finial on top. While I am unable to open one of the prayer wheels, the other one can be opened and within it is a scroll that came with the prayer wheel when originally purchased back in the early to mid 1960s.  Please email me with any questions you might have and I'd be happy to try to answer them.
