Rhode Island Souvenir Plate Homer Laughlin Vintage Little Rhody Newport Golf

Here is a vintage 1955 Rhode Island souvenir plate. It is approximately 10" in diameter and is marked "Homer Laughlin Made in U.S.A." with the Homer Laughlin Co symbol on the back. Although Homer Laughlin did not do special-order commemorative and souvenir plates, outside decorating shops used Laughlin blanks. It is also imprinted A 55 N 8 on the bottom which indicates that it was made in January 1955 at the Newell plant #8.
This plate is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, and little, if any, paint missing or signs of crazing. It features Rhode Island Red Monument, State Capitol, First U.S. Open Golf Championship, and Newport in the center. The rim is trimmed in a 1 1/2" pink border with 22k gold filigree pattern. This is a real beauty!
