    Description

    Cryphina sp
    , also known as
    Pseudocryphaeus
    , is a Lower Devonian trilobite from Morocco. It is is on of the Phacopida. The trilobite is inherently small, with a pronounced snout and schizochroal eye lenses.
    The trilobite is 1.5 inches long (if flattened) and 0.66 inches wide. Trilobite and matrix is 2.45 by 2.75 by 1.55 inches. The schizochroal lenses  are present in both eyes.
    There is a repair running through the tips of the left thoracic spines. In the trilobite -collecting world this is not a detriment. Trilobites are found by smashing open rocks- and the specimens often get broken as a result. It is rare to find an entire, unbroken trilobite. And if one is found, they usually are sold for a premium amount. Many sellers do not disclose that their fossils have been repaired as the repair is often very well done, and virtually undetectable. I believe in full disclosure.
