Description
This stunning rug with its grape design was made in Pakistan by Iranian refugees. Over the years of collecting oriental rugs we have learned a lot about them from studying books and listening to Iranian dealers. We know that this rug was woven by Iranians because it has Persian knots and Persian design. The main repeating motif in the rug are hanging grapes. The color green is the predominant color with burgundy being the secondary color.
It is in like-new condition and was in our FL home with no pet hair or smoking - ever. We seldom vacuumed it as we were told, when we bought it over 30 years ago from an Iranian rug dealership store in High Point, NC, not to vacuum it too often as vacuuming wears down Oriental rugs.
One of the features we love about is that it is very tightly woven. We counted 289 knots/sq inch. Please take the time to count the knots yourself using the picture, since we found it very challenging to count them when there are so many knots in every sq inch. I would rather you relied on your own count, since we might be off in either direction.
