The alpaca is a product of ancient Andean civilizations when 6,000 years ago it had already evolved from the vicuña to produce a unique fiber. Alpaca fiber has worldwide renown for its luxurious quality. Alpaca fiber is fine, strong (second only to silk among natural fibers), very warm, comfortable and with the lightness of a feather.
Alpaca fiber is an expensive fiber, most of our products are mixtures with either wool sheep or acrylic or both unless it specifically says it is 100% alpaca.
